Southern Pacific GS-1 Project Information

The GS-1 is a classic design, Baldwin built, light 'Northern' class locomotive which was the first in a class of renowned Southern Pacific locomotives. Our project will focus on an expansive service period from the early as-built days to the late service period and will include prototypes from both the Pacific and Texas lines of service. We will offer multiple locomotive configurations as well as multiple tender types. (Products bearing Southern Pacific marks are made under trademark license from Union Pacific Railroad Company)

An exclusive feature for our GS-1 is the prototypically built and hung running boards which are mounted on brackets extending from the boiler jacket, you can see daylight between the running board
